Same as it ever was
Same as it ever was. Y'all know the rest. Even if I don't.
I do believe that the phrase ''I have to return some library books'' is the new ''I have to return some videos'' (if y'all have read American Psycho, you'll catch the reference; if not, shame on you), excuse-wise. A relatively quiet and uneventful trip to the book place and then to Safeway.
No random and senseless PDA's to witness. No sightings of my lovely neighbor, although I did look to see if her car was in its parking space, as I sometimes do, being a complete fucking chump and all. It wasn't, but that means nothing, as she rarely parks there, anyway. I know this because she told me so, not because I like check every day or anything.
I've narrowed down my costume choices for the Halloween party I've been invited to (thanks, Kim) next weekend to 2:
1) find some greasepaint (I believe that's the correct term) and some eyeliner (I already have a wardrobe predominated by black clothing) and do my harlequin/Crow impression; although this may involve parting with my goatee temporarily and possibly having to learn kung fu
b) give up on the whole idea of a costume, as I'm not really costume folk, punt the party, and spend the evening bonding with my new TV; perhaps raising the dead or at least communicating with them
Right now, they're pretty much neck and neck.
Not much luck on the selections tip, although I did secure still more graphic novels and one of the Gossip Girl novels I've been meaning to peruse.
More fortunate on the CD tip, as I found City of Angels (for Uninvited); an 80's disc (for Tarzan Boy); Sliver (always liked Slave to the Vibe); Everclear's greatest hits package (Volvo Driving Soccer Mom: I REALLY need to download the video, too) and the new White Stripes disc (Meg White's got an awesomely big rack for such a little girl, don't she? and she ain't a bad drummer, either. Jack kinda creeps me out, though, and his allegedly supermodel new bride). The relevant songs have already been uploaded, and the iTunes count now stands at 2739 songs. Maybe 9 of which I listen to frequently.
Well, I'm off to play around with my Adaware SE (from Lavasoft), and see if'n I've acquired any spyware of late. If y'all don't have it yet, acquire it soonest. It's quick, effective, and, best of all; FREE. Then I finally get to watch Justice League Unlimited cartoons. Being a simple country boy and all, I LOVE cartoons, especially those with anatomically perfect superheroines.
